When I first began with this truck, the hood, grill, and left fender were removed exposing the engine compartment. The whole frame was up on cinder blocks with the tires barely touching the ground. I removed the right fender for ease of maintenance and placed it in the bed of the truck with the rest of the body parts. I did wash all the removed parts as well as taking a bottle of Windex and a rag to the outside of the cab because of all the dust. Surprisingly enough the only rust on the truck is on the frame, and the bed base material. All the rust on the frame is surface rust though and comes off with a wire wheel, unfortunately the floor of the bed is so rotted out that I have a 1/8 inch steel plate sitting on all the remaining metal that acts stronger than the original bed floor ever was.
